Dr. Serena Ajani received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Toronto with an emphasis in Biology. She then went on to receive her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern College of Optometry where she was a scholarship recipient each year. During her internship rotations, Dr. Ajani received extensive training in diagnosing and treating eye diseases such as diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, and macular degeneration, Dr. Ajani is certified by both the Board of Examiners of Optometry in Canada and the use of Therapeutic Pharmaceutical Agents (TPA). She is also accredited in the United States by the National Board of Examiners (NBEO) and the Treatment and Management of Ocular Diseases (TMOD).
Dr. Ajani is an active member of the Canadian Association of Optometrists (CAO) and the Ontario Association of Optometrists (OAO).
Since graduating in 2007, Dr. Ajani has been a part of both private and commercial practices. In December 2012, with the support of her husband, then 2-year-old daughter, and family, she opened up Cornell Optometry, a full scope Optometric clinic providing eye care for the whole family.
Dr. Ajani now has two daughters, ages 14 and 9. She has been a resident of Markham for the last 15 years and is proud to be part of the Cornell Community.
